3What's the hype all about?  Sep 06, 2010
Compared to standard def cables, I don't see what the hype is all about. I got this for my aunt, and she said the sound quality was a little better, but I think she was just being nice.

PROS:
* You don't have to use the TV remote to switch channels (like go to video 1 or whatver). Since it's a smart cable, you just turn on a DVD player with hdmi connected, and just pop in a dvd and play.

* Single cable. With standard def cables, you have a yellow, red, and white cord that could get tangled. With HDMI, it's all-in-one.

* Cheap Amazon cable. IF you go to a Walmart, these HDMI cables range from $50 to $100+ prices.

CONS:
* I can't tell the picture quality yet. Will keep you updated within next few months. This is about all that's bad.

Overview:
If I had a choice over standard def cables, I would choose Amazon's cheap $2 HDMI cable (the product I'm reviewing) just for the sake of simplicity and the assumed better quality. It'll make good gifts (just make sure your recipient has a TV and DVD player with HDMI slots).

5High quality cable.  Sep 06, 2010
Pros:
High quality construction
Works well
Feels well
Fast delivery
Its cheap

Cons:
I'm using Comcast and if you switch from a channel that is 480p to 1080p it takes some time to switch (about 3-5 seconds).

5hdmi cable  Sep 06, 2010
I LOOKED AT WAL MART FOR OTHER HDMI CABLES AND THEY WERE WAY TO EXPENSIVE SO I LOOKED ONLINE AND FOUND THESE CABLES LESS THAN $3 AND AS SOON AS I HOOKED UP MY HDTV WITH THEM IT MADE THE PICTURE LOOK GREAT SO I WOULD RECOMMEND THESE CABLES AS A LOW COST WAY TO MAKE YOUR HD TV LOOK LIKE IT SHOULD...THANKS

Consumer Reports Says: Buy HDTV at Amazon!

Washington, D.C. (July 2010) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)

The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2009 and June 2010. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its July 2010 issue.)

"
Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."

Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com came closest.
