Great picture, good sound. Jul 16, 2010 This TV was my first venture into a flat screen, HD TV. I did a lot of research before even starting to look for a new TV, so that I could understand all the new terminology that was being thrown around. I've had this TV for several months now and I really like it. It replaced a 20 inch, 9 year old Toshiba CRT. I also spent a lot of time in stores, looking at the various TV screens, checking them out at various angles, figuring out what I wanted and what I didn't need in a new TV set.
I bought this TV because it had the right mix of features for the right price. The picture quality on HD stations is superb, on regular stations it's very good. (I have Verizon FIOS which may or may not make a difference.) The sound quality is okay, but you have to turn the sound up pretty high to get all the little background noises, which is not possible for me, as I live in an apartment and would like to stay on good terms with the neighbors. The remote is easy to use. Setup was a piece of cake--just follow the instructions in the manual.
The one lack is that there is no headphone jack. Fortunately, I was able to connect the TV to my 25 year old stereo and plug the headphones into that. It's a bit of a weird set-up, nice new flat screen TV, ancient stereo so old that it has inputs for a turntable and tape decks but not a CD player, but the sound out of the stereo is fantastic.
I bought this from Adorama Camera through Amazon. There were two flaws in the screen that were very noticeable when I first turned it on--they were large enough that I thought some specks of the styrofoam packing materials were still on the screen. I contacted Adorama and they gave me the phone number for LG. LG tried to give me a bit of a run-around, but a second call to Adorama, and they called LG. A repairman came to my house 4 days later (thank heavens I did not have to pack this up and try to lug it to UPS!), and he replaced the screen. All at no charge. I'd definitely buy from Adorama again. Their customer service was excellent.
Product price GREAT refund terms STINK May 10, 2010 Got this through ADORAMA CAMERA -on amazon site. Great GREAT PRICE! Yes, i assumed being new to amazon that they or their advertisers were held to a high refund standard. Well, Thankfully the item came but the package was damaged pretty severely (on the inside -minor dent on the outside) kind of back-wards really to what one might expect. Still the only Packaging of the TV was the one they are in on the shelf at the store-really that was IT! Honestly I expected MORE and that got my attention to double check on a few things before making more purchases. STILL the item worked and has so far so good. Only the volume needs a bit of a help but works great through my DVD and Streaming and Bose. But, when the box arrived and the inside was pulverized-the foam was in pellets okay-no joke; we were shocked-and it had; occurred So we went back -to the fine print; both on Amazon ad and the links back to their web return policies; we NOTED in BOLD PRINT: ..basically that THIS Seller would not accept refunds on TV'S EVEN if the purchaser refused to "sign for the item" (say if we had refused to sign for the item; which had we opened it fully we would have wanted too)! Then, NOTED that ALL TVS were "AS IS" and on their web site they simply stated regarding televisions "purchaser to contact manufacturer for repair". THEN with some MORE DIGGING around on some other web REVIEWER SITES " other customers" had made complaints about a situation; only to finally "get someone" sounds like in charge of "fixing their reputation" or "public relations" representative- so to speak-to help them. O boy-I work hard for my money;but don't have time to complain and belly ache. I expect a good deal should be a good deal coming from someone that advertises on Amazon. But I will read the WHOLE thing first when make a major purchase in the days ahead. SO final thought- Well I guess you do get what you Pay For and not what you might get as a GOOD Deal. This crap shoot panned out for us; but Would NEVER tell anyone to buy from them again UNLESS their return policy for "ALL" merchandise is brought out of "shade-y" to straight talk and solid and shipping for TV and or these sort of items brought Up to Where it outta be. Then I will / would come back and bring my company, family and friends. Perhaps. So unless your a gambling sorta lucky-lotto winner type I would READ policy on any amazon listing (THEN follow that link right back to the SELLERS web page) so you don't get taken for a bumpy ride!
Images more real than real life! Mar 12, 2010 Upgraded from a 15 yo 25 inch Admiral after shopping for a year and comparing all the reviews. Bought this on Amazon when on sale for $599. What a steal of a deal! Took 15 minutes to unbox, assemble stand, hook to cable and plug in. In another 15 minutes had tried all the control buttons and found them easy to understand and use - very user friendly. Picture quality unbelievable!!! Reviewed a lot of my DVDs over the next few days and movies like Ratatouie (sp?), the details from the brass fittings on the stoves to the shadows on the rats whiskers - just remarkable - like seeing the movie for the first time (watched it at least 10 times before with the grandkids).
Sound quality is very good, but not the same as an upscale audio system - but still above average. I had to upgrade the Charter cable to HD for $10 more a month, but the access to many free (and pay) on-demand services - and the wonderful kids programming made it well worth it.

Great picture. Jan 30, 2010 My first HDTV. The picture quality is super; I haven't seen a tv that can compare to it. The sound is not very good. I am somewhat hearing impaired and the only way I could hear it was to turn the sound way too loud. It even seems distorted. I bought a Sony SS360 home theater and that solved the problem, but I wasn't prepared to have to do that to enjoy the product. I would recommed the tv but only if you plan to add some other sound system. Otherwise, I think you will be disappointeed.
Excellent Jan 07, 2010 The HDTV has a beautiful picture. The colors are vivid and clear. The HDTV sound is clear and the setup was easy. All of the features are great, compatible with other components and it looks great in my entertainment center.

Consumer Reports Says: Buy HDTV at Amazon!
Washington, D.C. (July 2010) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2009 and June 2010. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its July 2010 issue.)
"Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."
Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com came closest.
