| | Description | The ultimate HDMI cable for HDTV, DVD and A/V Receivers. The Monster name has long been synonymous with high-quality cabling. Since high-performance cable is needed for serious home theater, Monster joined forces with THX, the leader in audio/video quality assurance programs for select movie theatres, home theatre components, and DVDs. The result is Monster's Ultra Series THX. Recommended for HDTV, DVD, set-top boxes, A/V receivers, or other high-performance HDMI applications, this THX-certified HDMI cable is a high performance, low-loss connector. The 4-Foot Monster HDMI Cable Ultra THX 800 is made for high-definition digital video transfer as well as multi-channel surround audio without compromising maximum performance. The 4-Foot Monster HDMI Cable Ultra THX 800 is a pure, all-digital connection that delivers superior digital video and multi-channel audio in a single cable, offering ultra-high performance while reducing the maze of home theater connections. Monster's advanced features, including 24K gold contacts and nitrogen gas-injected dielectric insulation, work together to deliver ultra-high clarity with ultra-low attenuation, even over long runs. Backward compatible with DVI, the 4-Foot Monster HDMI Cable Ultra THX 800's advanced design and construction exceeds HDMI standards for cleaner sound and a high-definition picture that's five times the resolution of conventional TV. With its double-sided aluminum bonded foil shield and ultra-high density copper braid, the 4-Foot Monster HDMI Cable Ultra THX 800 rejects radio frequency and electromagnetic interference for the clearest HDTV picture possible. You'll also appreciate the lower-loss, high-bandwidth digital signal transfer, thanks to this HDMI cable's multi-stranded copper center conductor. Ultra Series cables are ultra-impressive. This cable had to meet the stringent certification standards set by THX. | |

Overpriced and feeding on consumer ignorance! Aug 28, 2010 Don't buy into the hype the sales people at Big Box stores or Monster feeds you. Folks, there is no need to spend this over inflated price on an HDMI cable.
There is an article in NY Times on June 10, 2009 about how to tweak your HDTV to make it perform at its best. The article specifically advises readers not to be tempted to spend too much on cables. It also quotes industry expert Joe Kane. His advice: "Cheap cables that cost 75 cents per foot work as well as those that cost $100 per foot," said Mr. Kane. "With the latest HDMI cables, if you see a picture and hear the sound, you know it works."
Great Cable! May 12, 2010 Huge improvement over the El Cheapo cables I had. Movies on my PS3 now look sharp and the colors are so vivid. The build quality on these cables are exceptional. Monster tends to overprice their cables but it is well worth the investment.

Quality 1080p Cable Dec 27, 2008 I purchased this in June 2007 from accessories4les through Amazon for forty bucks. The cable works well with my cable (1080i) and with my Playstation 3 (1080p). Not all hdmi cables work with 1080p (I have one that does not). This one does work with 1080p. This is a quality cable and works as promised.

Great product Mar 26, 2008 Some people say it's not worth it to spend a lot of money on HDMI cables, but since I already spent some good money on a nice TV, home theatre and a PS3, I just wanted to get the best out of my investments. All I can say is that the image is vivid and beautiful. This cable is doing the work. I don't regret this purchase and I'd recomend it to anyone. If I could give any advise on them is that you may want to consider getting something a little bit longer. My entertainment center is not big at all, and this cable is roughly reaching my TV
It does what I want it to do. Jan 15, 2008 I bought this cable at Best Buy for a ridiculous price. But, I opened the plastic, and now I can't return it. That being said, I haven't had any problems with it, so my only qualm is the price I paid for it.
It does exactly what I want it to do, and works every time, without any problems. I don't feel right giving it five stars unless it goes above and beyond, and I haven't woken up to breakfast in bed yet, so it gets four stars. It works exactly as I want, but it doesn't have any unexpected bonuses.

Consumer Reports Says: Buy HDTV at Amazon!
Washington, D.C. (July 2010) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2009 and June 2010. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its July 2010 issue.)
"Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."
Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com came closest.
