good Jun 11, 2010 Received the product on time and the blue ray player does what its supposed to. No problems yet.
Awesome BD player for the price Jun 03, 2010 We bought this player a month or so ago, understanding very well that it has no wireless receiver to access Netflix, Pandora, etc. and firmware updates and nor does it have a USB port. That said, it is a pretty solid entry-level player that we picked up for <$100 at Conn's. However, it does come with a caveat. If you don't already have a SD card in the slot provided, then IT WILL NOT LOAD YOUR BLU-RAY DISK PROPERLY. I was very eager to play my first ever BD movie and without a SD card, all I could see was a small rectangle in the middle of our TV which showed the video, with the audio playing in the background. I called Toshiba and they said that the player lacked sufficient internal memory and that a SD card with 8GB-32GB capacity should fix the issue. I must say that considering that this model was Toshiba's first foray into the Blu-Ray realm, they could have included a SD card or at least asked their retailers to convey this very important requirement to their buyers. I have not gotten around to reading the manual, but I'm going to assume they did not mention it there either. Anyway, we ended up spending $30 on a SanDisk 8GB Ultra SDHC card, and once we loaded the card, it worked perfectly. Maybe it is the quality of the SD card or maybe it is the player itself, but the loading time for a BD iss less than 30 seconds. Impressive! The up-conversion of DVD's to 1080p via HDMI is fantastic, and the BD performance was even better with crisper images and sharper sound without lags, freezing, or skipping of any kind, that I've heard being reported about other BD players. I still haven't figured out how the Regza link works (I have a Toshiba Regza 46SV670U) and am a little skeptical about reviews that mention the player dying out shortly after the warranty period. However, for now, things are as simple as they get with this BD player and we love it!

Didn't work. May 16, 2010 The BD Player I received played only DVDs. No BDs at all. I tried several BDs, but not even one loaded well.
Don't buy this product.
good product May 14, 2010 works just like it should. I'm well pleased. Love the Regza-Link feature so I can use just one remote for the blu-ray player and toshiba tv.

Works well so far... Mar 29, 2010 This player has been hooked up for four days, and so far so good. I'm not terribly "techno-savvie" so it was a surprise to me that the friend who came over to help me with this had to run out and buy a cord before the unit could be hooked up to output high definition, including Blu-ray. Why does the box with a Blu-ray player not contain everything it needs to run a Blu-ray disc? That extra expense is why I give it four stars. My friend said it was a snap to hook it up, and it worked right away without a hitch. It looks cool, too. AmazonBasics High-Speed HDMI Cable (6.5 Feet/2.0 Meters) [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging]

Consumer Reports Says: Buy HDTV at Amazon!
Washington, D.C. (July 2010) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2009 and June 2010. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its July 2010 issue.)
"Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."
Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com came closest.
