2 years together Jun 04, 2010 It's been two years and I still love my tv. At the time I researched the heck out of tv's and this was "the one". So glad I got this one.
LCD panel failed after 2 years. May 12, 2010 After 2 years of reasonable quality, the picture began to intermittently lose the blue colors on-screen and the motion would blur. Eventually this became a permanent situation. As the TV was out of warranty, the customer service rep suggested i take it to an authorized service center for repair.
The repair center diagnosed that the LCD panel was defective and would need to be replaced. They recommended that i contact Toshiba again to see if they would stand behind their product as the panel was defective. Customer service was moderately friendly, but kept falling back on their 1-year warranty and told me i should have bought an extended warranty. Even though the panel was defective they would bot replace it for me. At one point a manager (this was the 3rd level up from rep to supervisor to manager) told me that they have a less than 1% failure rate which, if you read the reviews of this TV, seems like a lie. I truthfully never expected Toshiba to stand behind their product, but i didn't expect this either:
Cost of TV brand new - $715
Cost of replacement panel (not including labor) - $1438 and that was the price Toshiba sets!
Basically, this horrible company wanted me to pay more than double what i bought the set for, just to repair it.
I truthfully feel betrayed by Toshiba and I'll never, ever, ever buy a single one of their products ever again. I'll also be sure to share my experience with everyone i know and caution them never to buy a Toshiba product either.
Dead After Two Years Mar 29, 2010 I too thought this was a good TV, paying well over $800.00 for it about two years ago. Much like others who have reviewed this product the picture suddenly went black on my set although the sound and other commands still worked.
To make a long story short I am very dissapointed with Toshiba and the costly suggestions on fixing this model so I went out and bought an LG which I love.
For now the Toshiba is serving as a very fashionable 32 inch "radio". Just a word of caution to those that might be considering this model.
Beware - panel dies after almost 2 years - Rip OFF Feb 14, 2010 Like others, I have owned my 32HL67U for almost 2 years. Loved it. Picture great and enjoyed it. NOW - a piece of junk. I compared my problem to others and have concluded, I need to replace it. Screen nor menus appear when I turn on. I turned it off and unplugged the inputs to no avail. DEAD TV. Pissed off. Last Toshiba for me.
Love It Nov 10, 2009 I have had this for a while now & have had NO PROBLEMS whatsoever, even with the built-in DVD player. Can't go back, my next TV will be a REGZA 1080p. When I have a room for a TV, it'll be there! HIGHLY recommend!

Consumer Reports Says: Buy HDTV at Amazon!
Washington, D.C. (July 2010) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2009 and June 2010. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its July 2010 issue.)
"Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."
Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com came closest.
